Wordful/Wordless Wednesday-Rifton

Shane and Cole

Cole loves it when Shane plays with him. Shane will help Cole get to the edge of the driveway and let him roll down the hill so they can race. Shane will be on his skateboard and Cole in his Rifton.

The Rifton helps support Cole so he can walk and get around places. This is a loaner from Cole's school. We are currently waiting on the KidWalk that we have ordered for him. Yes, of course, I will post pictures as soon as we get it in.

RSV

One week ago today I had to take Cole to see his pediatrician. He will be another post at another time though.

So it turns out that Cole has RSV and double ear infections. RSV stands for respiratory syncytial virus.

A lot of children that may already have a compromised respiratory system may have to be hospitalized when they get RSV. As you may know, Cole has very low trunk tone which compromises any organs in his trunk.

We were very fortunate to not have to worry about that this time around. Generally Cole is very healthy, other than his constant bowel problems and his lack of sleeping, which seems to be more bothersome for me than him.

He has almost completed his round of antibiotics and I can see major improvements. He still has his fussy moments but has started jabbering more and seems to be happy more frequently.

C'mon....push....up!

Like this? Am I doin it yet?

Ta-Da! Look, Look, Hurry!

Whew! Now I'm worn out!

I wish I could make it easier for Cole. If he could just stay up on his hands/arms he would be so ready to crawl. He does this nose dive action with his butt in the air and will get his legs pumping like he is trying to crawl. Then he gets so excited and his arms go down and back to his sides. Poor baby, he tries so hard!

He understands what we are telling him but he just can't get his hands and arms to do what his mind it telling them to do. We will coach him saying "put your hands up, push". He will maneuver them back in front and will do this half-propped up deal and sometimes he looks like a beached whale (a very cute beached whale) stuck on his belly kicking his fins (feet) around trying to get somewhere.

Wordful/Wordless Wednesday-Yummy!

Isn't this baby just yummy? Or is "yummy" what Cole was thinking while Grandma was giving him his bottle?

He wanted his bottle at first then he got so distracted with playing and wanting to jump that he just let the milk that was left in his mouth trickle out.

I can't just post a picture without explaining it..... If you want to see other ramblers like me that like to explain their pictures take a trip over to Angie's place (she really ROCKS!) at:

Praying for Tuesday!

I know, it may seem strange that I would pray for Tuesday, and skip the weekend. I sit here feeling compelled to set aside any of our personal problems, worries, concerns to share the story of another beautiful child (and her family) in need of a miracle.

We have completely different battles to try to overcome, yet our battles still feel the same. They tug at your heart....they break your heart! This family is battling CANCER that is trying to take over in this beautiful little girl.

Please take a moment, click here, read their story, and pray! Pray, think positive thoughts, send some love .... whatever you do when you are in need of a miracle! I will not only be praying for Tuesday on Tuesdays, but every day of the week!

Cole's a drool pool

Cole's oldest brother was making him laugh so hard he was dribbling uncontrollably. I love to hear his belly laughs when they are playing.
